Warning: The following contains major spoilers for Season 50, Episode 8 of "Survivor."

"Survivor" fans may have voted for Season 50, titled "In The Hands of the Fans," to include big twists, but viewers might be shocked by how far production went with its latest one.

In the April 15 episode of the reality competition series, the remaining 13 contestants were divided into pairs, except Cirie Fields, who was among a batch who opted to be the odd one out and whose request was granted by random draw.

The 55-year-old "Traitors" winner was then taken to Exile Island, where she was automatically granted immunity but had to compete for a chance to vote at the tribal council. In a race against an hourglass timer, she scoured a beach with 2,000 coconuts to find one that had a phoenix symbol. If the timer ran out before she could find it, she would not participate in the vote and spend the night on the deserted island.

The other 12 players divided amongst themselves into pairs, where they competed for shared immunity. But the twist didn't stop with the challenge, as host Jeff Probst revealed that for the first time, the players would be voting a pair out of the game.

The pairs in Wednesday's episode consisted of the following duos:

Benjamin "Coach" Wade and Chrissy Hofbeck

Aubry Bracco and Rick Devins

Jonathan Young and Christian Hubicki

Emily Flippen and Rizo Velovic

Tiffany Ervin and Joe Hunter

Tiffany Ervin, who was presumably the next to be eliminated after receiving four votes, and Joe Hunter, who ironically voted for Tiffany last week, were the victorious pair who secured immunity together. That left the remaining five pairs scrambling to make sure they weren't on a sinking ship together.

Who was voted out of 'Survivor 50'?

Benjamin "Coach" Wade and Chrissy Hofbeck were voted out as a pair in Wednesday's episode, becoming the second and third members of the jury.

Despite Chrissy's pleas for the infamous "Dragon Slayer" to maintain a low profile, to which he abided, the pair received the majority of votes. Cirie, who managed to return to camp after finding the phoenix coconut in time, swayed the vote away from Devins and Aubry in an effort to eliminate two players in the dominant alliance.

Coach played his Shot In The Dark advantage, granting him and Chrissy a one in six chance at safety, but luck was not on their side.

Considerations to vote out Aubry and Devins were completely squashed after Devins picked up the fake idol he and Christian previously planted at tribal council to scare the others away from voting him.

Who is left on 'Survivor 50' after the blood moon?
