It's been over five months since Kristin Cabot went viral after appearing on a "kiss cam" at a Coldplay concert with her then-boss — but she's still reeling from the aftermath.
In July 2025, the mother of two was thrust into the spotlight during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., after a controversial moment with former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron. Cabot, who was already separated from her husband at the time, and Byron, who is married, were with friends at the show when they were shown on the big screen with Byron's arms wrapped around Cabot. Cabot now says she believed Byron was also splitting from his wife at the time. He has never spoken publicly and has since been seen in public with his wife.
When the pair quickly tried to duck out of view, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked that they might be having an “affair.” A video of the moment went viral on TikTok, racking up millions of views and igniting what became known as #coldplaygate.
Now, Cabot is speaking out about the saga for the first time. In an interview with The Times published on Dec. 18, Cabot said what happened was "not anybody's business," but she also told The New York Times in a profile published that same day that she had made a "bad decision" with Byron.
"I’m not some celebrity, I’m just a mom from New Hampshire," she told The Times. "Even if I did have an affair, it’s not anybody’s business. ... It has been like a scarlet letter; people erased everything I’d accomplished in my life and achieved in my career. This can’t be the final word."
So, where is Kristin Cabot now? Here's everything to know about her life in the aftermath of the Coldplay kiss cam saga.
Who is Kristin Cabot?

Cabot is a mother of two who was raised in Maine in a family of brothers, per The New York Times. She worked in advertising and sales before transitioning to human resources. In the summer of 2024, she interviewed with then-Astronomer CEO Byron and eventually began working as the company's chief people officer in November 2024.
According to The New York Times, Cabot and Byron "spoke every day" in their roles, but in the spring of 2025, she believed they found commonality when she told him she was going through a separation and he allegedly said, "I’m going through the same thing," per Cabot.
The status of Byron's relationship remains unclear. However, despite what Cabot has said, Byron has never commented publicly and he and his wife were seen together in September 2025 with their wedding rings.
"To have someone else going through it at the exact same time that you can talk to was an amazing support," Cabot told The Times. In her conversation with The New York Times, Cabot said what she described as their shared experience "strengthened" their connection.
She said she grew "big feelings" quickly, but she "didn't really get too carried away" in imagining romantic possibilities because he was her boss at the time.
What has Kristin Cabot said about the Coldplay 'kiss cam' scandal?
After months of silence, Cabot, who had hired a publicist to help her, decided to tell her side of the story without adding more damage to herself and those close to her.
In her interview with The New York Times, Cabot shared insight into what occurred that night with Byron, explaining that the pair were not in a sexual relationship and were "not an item," but when her friends asked her to attend the concert, she invited Byron as her plus-one.
On the way to the stadium, Cabot's daughter — whom she shares with her first husband, Kenneth Thornby — texted her to let her know that Andrew, her husband from whom she was separated, was also going to be at the concert (on a first date with someone else, she later learned), per The Times.
Cabot and Byron were seated on a V.I.P. balcony that felt dark and private, and after a few cocktails each, they began looking like a couple as the concert went on, per The New York Times. Byron was dancing behind Cabot when she took his hands and wrapped his arms around her — just before they appeared on screen.
"I was so embarrassed and so horrified. I’m the head of H.R. and he’s the C.E.O. It’s, like, so cliché and so bad," she said, adding that they fled back to the bar and sat there with their heads in their hands, thinking, "What just happened?"
Reflecting on seeing their image on the big screen, Cabot told The New York Times it felt like "someone flipped a switch," as it stripped the "joy" she was feeling in the moment. Her hands went over her face and she removed herself from Byron's arms, immediately thinking of the fact that her soon-to-be ex-husband was in the audience and that Byron was her boss.
That night was the first and only time she kissed Byron, Cabot said. But reflecting on the moment, Cabot said it's "not nothing."
"I made a bad decision and had a couple of [alcoholic] High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss," she said. "And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay."

Cabot said she and Byron remained in touch through the summer, exchanging news about Astronomer and updating each other on their families. Then, they met in September and agreed that "speaking with each other was going to make it too hard for everyone to move on and heal."
Cabot filed a petition for divorce in August 2025. The next month, a spokeswoman for Andrew released a statement to PEOPLE, saying that he and Cabot "were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert."
"Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening," the spokeswoman added. "Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued."
Per New Hampshire court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the pair agreed to seal the divorce petition and proceedings.
Meanwhile, Byron — who resigned from Astronomer when the moment went viral — was spotted with his wife in September 2025. Neither of them appears to have filed for divorce.
Where is Kristin Cabot Now?
After the Coldplay concert, Cabot stepped away from Astronomer temporarily while they conducted an investigation into the matter, according to her December 2025 interviews. The company eventually asked her to return to her role, she said, but according to The New York Times, Cabot couldn't imagine how she could continue being the human resources chief given the public attention on her. So, she negotiated her resignation, which was announced on July 24, 2025.
In the aftermath, Cabot has faced a string of online and in-person harassment, which she told The Times "never ended."
The harassment also took a toll on her children, who she told The New York Times were afraid that their mom — and they — were "going to die."
According to The Times, her two kids are reluctant to be seen with her, and remain "mad" at her to this day.
"They can be mad at me for the rest of their lives — I have to take that," she said.
Despite their reluctance, Cabot's children were in support of her breaking her silence on the saga, per The New York Times.
"I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up," she said. "But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them."
