Less than a month before No Doubt is set to take the stage for their Las Vegas residency, guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis.

Before getting to the health update, Dumont began his Saturday Instagram video by celebrating the upcoming reunion show and expressing gratitude to his fans and loved ones for their support.

"The last couple months, getting ready for the No Doubt Sphere shows, it’s been very fun,” Dumont shared. "Looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing and creating all the video stuff for the Sphere. It’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead, as a musician all these years."

He added, "It’s thanks for our families and our friends and our listeners and you and everyone who’s come to our shows over the years."

The 58-year-old  guitarist then addressed his health journey, sharing that he began experiencing symptoms years prior, which prompted a visit to his doctor and later, a neurologist. After a series of tests, he was officially diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease.

"It’s been a struggle. It’s a struggle every day," Dumont admitted. "The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well."

Parkinson's Disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that progresses over time and affects movement, according to the Parkinson's Foundation. Symptoms typically include tremors, rigidity, and balance issues, which can worsen as the disease progresses.

Dumont went on to share that despite the diagnosis, he will still join No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani and the rest of his bandmates for their month-long residency at Las Vegas' Sphere venue from May 6 to June 13.

"I’ve just been very inspired by other people who have come out to talk about their health issues on social media and that sort of thing," he explained. "I think it helps erase some of the stigma, and it raises awareness obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research."

Dumont added he would later share another video detailing his diagnosis and the symptoms he faces. He closed out his video statement by affirming, "I’m really excited about the shows, can’t wait to see everybody."

The comments section of Dumont's video was flooded with well wishes from friends and fans alike, including his bandmates.

"My friend, bandmate, and hero……I love you brother," wrote No Doubt drummer Adrian Young. Bassist Tony Kanal added, "Love you beyond words my friend. Can’t wait to get on stage with you again."

The upcoming residency marks a big moment for the band. The ska-punk group last toured together in 2009 and in 2012 reunited for a brief seven-show residency at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles titled Seven Night Stand. It was another decade before they came back together for a surprise performance at Coachella in 2024. The residency will be their first extended run in 14 years.
