Not all celebrity couples feel the need to take a trip down the aisle.

There are several couples in Hollywood who have been going strong for over a decade, but haven't married. While a few have been in years-long engagements, many pairs have been open about their desire to maintain a committed partnership rather than officially tie the knot.

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for more than four decades and don’t plan to wed. The actress told CNN’s Chris Wallace in July 2023 that she believes preserving “independent thinking” is important.

Meanwhile, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham confirmed their engagement in January 2016 and have plans to tie the knot one day. The model told Extra in October 2018 the “time will come” for their wedding, but it’s not a “huge priority for us.”

Here are 10 celebrity couples who have been together for over a decade but haven’t married.

Hawn and Russell have been in a relationship for over 40 years.

The pair first met in 1966 while filming the movie musical The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but didn’t start dating until 17 years later. They reconnected during the audition process for Swing Shift in 1983.

The actors share one son together, Wyatt Russell. Hawn also shares two children, Oliver and Kate Hudson, with her ex-husband Bill Hudson, while Russell has a son, Boston Russell, with his ex-wife Season Hubley.

Speaking with PEOPLE in December 2020, Hawn said she and Russell never felt the need to get married.

“It’s not about the marriage. It’s about the people and the relationship, and the will to stay together," she said. "That’s a big one because if you want it, you can have it. You’ve got to give things up, but the joy and the excitement of being together and touching the toes of somebody at night is really a nice feeling."

“Both he and I now say, ‘If we had married, we would not be together,' ” Winfrey told PEOPLE in October 2019. “No question about it — we would not stay married, because of what that would have meant to him, and I would have had my own ideas about it.”

As for marriage, the Beetlejuice actress has been open about not wanting to tie the knot due to a fear of getting divorced.

"Marriage? I don't know. I'd rather never have been married than been divorced a few times,” she told The Edit (via TIME) in July 2016. “Not that there's anything wrong with divorce, but I don't think I could do it if that was a possibility. When your parents are madly in love for 45 years, your standards are really high."
